BCAL are pleased to have been awarded the Principal Designer role for this prestigious development.
This building dates from the 1830s, and was designed in the 'Greek Revival' style with Doric columns facing the street, and has a Grade II Historic England listing. The building suffered a fire in 1874, and the grand neo-classical facade was the only part not to be destroyed.
The 12,000 square foot building will be transformed into a 'contemporary fashion emporium', including a cafe, restaurant and bar, set over six floors, including a basement and a south-facing roof terrace.
The Client also intends to improve public areas in Motcomb Street ahead of the opening, and will be working on designs in consultation with Westminster City Council and the local community in the coming months.
