BCAL Consulting was appointed to carry out the civil and structural design of this exiting project which will transform the heart of the town centre.
The museum incorporates a shoe gallery to showcase the town’s world-renowned collection.
The new building is supported by CFA piles and the floor slabs were designed as flat slabs to give maximum flexibility and headroom.
The existing building, which includes an old gaol block, had to be sympathetically transformed to realise the client’s aspirations.
The building also houses a café and events space.
